1st Place
Michelle Grey Winning Story: Buried Truths Best-selling Author Michelle Grey writes stories about strong women with strong passions, sexy swoon-worthy heroes, and the twists of fate that bring them together and try to tear them apart. When she’s not writing, reading, or voicing a novel, Michelle spends most of her time hanging out with her favorite humans. With marriages and babies and puppies, the boisterous group seems to grow every year, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Stay up to date on new releases at:

2nd Place
Diane Rogers Winning Story: The (First) Incarceration of Antonia Ford—Confederate Spy Born in New Jersey, Diane's love of reading and writing began early. In fifth grade, she attempted a Nancy Drew-esk type book. It didn't go well, and she gave up--for a while.
With parents from the east and south, Diane's love of the Civil War blossomed early too. With over twenty books to her credit, most about the Civil War, writing has become her passion. She writes every day, unless she's out speaking on the subjects she writes about. Years ago, winning third place in a contest that asked..."Why do you write?" Diane asked... “Why do you breathe?" http://www.dlrogersbooks.com |
3rd Place
Sally Berneathy Winning Story: Mother Sally grew up in a small rural town in southeastern Oklahoma where their favorite entertainment on summer evenings was to sit outside under the stars and tell stories. When she went to bed at night, instead of a lullaby, she got a story. That could be due to the fact that everybody in her family has a singing voice like a bullfrog with laryngitis, but they sure could tell stories—ghost stories, funny stories, happy stories, scary stories. For as long as Sally can remember she's been a storyteller. Thank goodness for computers so she can write down her stories. It's hard to make listeners sit still for the length of a book! Like her family’s tales, her stories are funny, scary, dramatic, romantic, paranormal, magic.
