We LOVE to write!
That about sums it up. The one thing we all have in common is that we love to write. Young, old, fiction, nonfiction, published, unpublished, indie published, traditionally published... doesn't matter, as long as you love to write. Some of our members do not write but help with editing and marketing.
Ten to fifteen core members come to most meetings, but others pop in when they can. All are welcome, of course. If you want to come to our next meeting, check out the Home page or the Events page. |
Browse through the list below of some of our regular members to get an idea of who we are and what we love to write. Every one of us is welcoming, supportive, and would love to help you meet your writing goals.
Some of our Regular Members
Goldie Edwards
G. A. Edwards, our Writers of Warrensburg founder, is a retired English teacher working part-time for the local police station where she hones her theories of crimes to feature in gritty contemporary thrillers for teens. Her flawed heroes strive to survive and eventually succeed while navigating realities of small town living, usual challenges of high school, and the not so usual problem of a killer or two on the loose. A voracious reader of many genres, she lives her motto of "Spreading the joys of literature one word at a time" with writing, editing, presenting workshops, and memberships in writing groups. She swears she loves teens, a good story, and her minivan, but avoids celery, glitter, and squirrels. As one should! |
Dan Brigman
I have lived in Missouri my entire life and reside near the town of Knob Noster. Fantasy and science fiction are my focus, yet I've published in the field of history. I love writing stories which speak to humanity's essential relationship with nature. Throughout my adventures, magic, technology, and intellect are used to overcome challenges, unite devastated nations, or to restore separated families. When I'm not writing I serve as a State Park Superintendent. I hold a 3rd Degree blackbelt in the art of Okinawa Shorin Ryu Karate Do. I further the art by teaching. Current Projects: The Blighter’s Shadow (epic fantasy) and Adalaj (sci-fi). Published Works: The Alterator’s Light and The Point of Woes. The Writers of Warrensburg is an excellent place to join with other fellow writers and writing enthusiasts to share on-going work, learn skills to hone writing, and to have fun with other local writers. https://www.danbrigman.com/ |

She has enjoyed participating in the Writers of Warrensburg group for the past two years and has benefited from the advice, critiques, and friendships formed.
